Need for Speed: Most Wanted is what happens when Criterion Games takes the open-world chaos of Burnout, throws a bunch of exotic cars into the mix, and says, “You know what this needs? MORE POLICE!” You blast around Fairhaven City at completely irresponsible speeds, smash through billboards, launch yourself off buildings, and generally treat the laws of physics as a loose suggestion. The cars are gorgeous, the crashes are spectacular, and the police are seemingly equipped with an unlimited supply of patrol cars and a personal vendetta against you. It’s fast, loud, ridiculous, and basically automotive therapy for people who think driving 55 MPH is a personal insult.
