Who knew that some older music & concert DVDs would be collectable? I dig through my collection and show you some of my favorites as well as some that cost more than when they were new!
It has been long rumored that The Devil and musicians sometimes go hand in hand. Some music fans may be surprised that this belief goes back much further than you think! And is there proof that Satan had a hand in creating some of the most memorable tunes?
John Bonham was esteemed for his speed, power, fast bass-drumming, distinctive sound, and “feel” for the groove. He is regarded as one of the greatest and most influential rock drummers of all time. Rolling Stone magazine ranked him number 1 in their list of the “100 Greatest Drummers of All Time.”
I need to go listen to some Led Zeppelin again
Troy Nelson joins me for a new music & vinyl pickups video! We cover 20 different albums including video game soundtracks, rock, metal, pop and more!
Faster than a bullet
Enraged and full of anger
He is half man and half machine
Rides the metal monster
Breathing smoke and fire
Closing in with vengeance soaring high
He is the painkiller
Sony’s portable battery-powered turntable from 1983 has become a highly desired and expensive collectors piece. However before I can demonstrate this one, I’ll need to get it working.
UPDATE: After uploading the video, it occurred to to that Sony have in fact revisited their back catalogue recently with the re-launch of the Aibo robotic dog. Hopefully this will continue and we’ll get to see some more modern reinterpretations of classic Sony products.
OMISSION: I forgot to mention that I pulled out any remnants of the old felt washer that was protruding from between the cogs before installing my replacement cloth tape.
Also perhaps I should have clarified that the gears unit was welded on at both ends, there were no retaining washers or e-clips that could be removed to disassemble it.
There’s also a fan website dedicated to the Sony PS-F5 that has some additional information – https://www.ps-f5.com
I show off this beautiful vinyl soundtrack for the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time!
One more anime cover before the month’s over! It’s one of my favorites for sure, but I have to admit the ending was a real let down for me personally. Either way, doesn’t detract from the fantastic music the series has.
In memory of the iconic Soundgarden / Audioslave / Temple of the Dog frontman, we present these unforgettable moments of Chris Cornell.
Metal Jesus & Troy picked up 27 vinyl records recently for their collections, mostly rock & metal…but with some surprises too! We also talk about Record Store Day, 8tracks, video game soundtracks and our love of the band Anthrax.

Nova Collective performs “Dancing Machines” from their debut album “The Further Side.”
Nova Collective began in 2014 when bassist Dan Briggs (Between the Buried and Me, Trioscapes) and guitarist Richard Henshall (Haken) began exchanging emails about music; before long, a few demos were fleshed out into full arrangements. Drummer Matt Lynch (Trioscapes, Cynic) and keyboardist Pete Jones (ex-Haken) came on board shortly after to finish writing the album. The Further Side was written on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, with Briggs and Lynch in America and Henshall and Jones in England, sharing session files until the group could get together at the beginning of 2015 to record with engineer Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, The Contortionist). Mixed by Rich Mouser (Neal Morse, Transatlantic), it is immediately
clear that The Further Side is a labor of love for all involved, and that enthusiasm shines throughout.
