Metal Jesus here, and I’m back again, this time with an update to my channel that I’m really excited about, and that is I’m going to be adding closed captioning or transcriptions to many of my bigger videos. I’m gonna start with the Friday videos. But this is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while now, because, well, in my family, I actually have an aunt who is deaf. And also I know some people who are in the gaming community, especially here in Seattle, who are deaf. And so it’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a while, but bigger than that, actually, is that there are a lot of people who watch YouTube videos and my videos where perhaps English is not their first language. And so having the text transcribed down below accurately is a big bonus for them.

Metal Jesus: Metal Jesus here, and I’m back again with John Riggs.
John Riggs: How you feeling?
Metal: Dude, how’s it going, man?
John: Thanks for having me back. Appreciate it.
Metal: You are here for a very special episode I’ve been wanting to do for a while.
John: Special episode?
Metal: Special episode!
John: Wow. Oh my goodness.
Metal: This is going to be a buyer’s guide for the original Nintendo.
John: Oh, the old NES. It’s my favorite system of all time.
Metal: Yeah, and the reason why I want do this is because this is for people who are just starting out to collect and get into the NES. What do you look out for as far as the hardware goes, as far as the controllers, everything.
John: What are you looking for, what kind of games are you looking for? If you start out with zero games, we’re going to show you ten solid titles, not necessarily my favorite games of all time, just 10 great games that will get you going in the right direction.
Metal: This is going to be an awesome episode. Let’s take a look!
Metal Jesus & TheBigJB invite over their closest friends for a game of DRINKING QUEST: the tabletop RPG card game where even if you lose… you still end up having a kick-ass time!
How does a “Drinking RPG” work? (From the DrinkingQuest web site)
Like a typical Role Playing Game you have a character sheet, roll for saving throws, fight monsters and find treasure BUT when your character dies in the game you have to chug your drink in real life! It adds a real level of tension and excitement to the battles. Everything matters.
The battles are a series of one-on-one fights to the death. You either kill the monster earning coins and XP or your character dies and you must chug your drink! The cards act as the GM (So everyone can drink) and the heroes go through four themed quests in each game – each getting progressively difficult and more likely to drink. However as this is a light RPG and a light Drinking Game there is a one chug per quest maximum which prevents Drinking Quest from being a “Pass out in 10 minutes” kind of drinking game. Over the course of 2 or 3 hours, a typical game averages 2 or 3 chugs.
All three Drinking Quest games are full games and not expansions. You don’t need one to play the other and you can start with any game. However they all exist in the same “Drunken Middle Earth” so there is a lot of fun story telling and humour that comes from that. The humour ranges in style from dark, clever, meta, obvious and profound. There are a lot of layers of humour here that will keep the game funny through multiple playthroughs.
Whoever gets the most XP wins! Whoever loses had to chug the most so it’s sort of like everybody wins.

UPDATE: 5/3/2015: Metal Jesus TOUR Ended: Unfortunately we did not make our goal to go on tour this summer and since we did not get fully funded, NO FUNDS WERE EXCHANGED and your credit card did NOT get charged.
I worked really hard on planning this and while everyone agreed it’s a great idea, I had hoped people would see the intention of what I wanted to do with the tour and the videos we planned to make. Plus I really wanted to meet all of you! But alas, it was not meant to be.
However, I still want to THANK the most hardcore and dedicated fans of my channel. You guys saw the vision we had and you believed in us enough to donate to the the cause and I can’t tell you how much that means to me. So even though we won’t get any money from the campaign, I still want to give everyone who donated a special gift: FREE METAL JESUS RINGTONES.
Also, everybody who donated $100 or more will get a FREE METAL JESUS COIN! These coins are so awesome, I just had to share them with you! They are still being manufactured, so they will ship out in a couple months.
If you donated, please check your email today for links to the ringtones.
It’s a small thank you to some of the best supporters and fans a silly YouTube channel like mine could ever ask for. I really appreciate everything you have done and who knows…. maybe we’ll try this again some day but with a different strategy.
Thanks again, and keep on rockin’
