Chronik Spartan – Dino Crisis was a fantastic series of video games that included two brilliant games on the PS1, a couple of spin offs and a not so great Dino Crisis 3 on the Xbox.
Dino Crisis had you playing as Regina as you investigated a secret weapons research facility. Although know best for it’s PS1 incarnation, due to it’s popularity there was also a Dino Crisis Dreamcast version.
Not so long ago we heard the amazing news of a Dino Crisis remake confirmed. More recently we’ve heard of that Dino Crisis remake cancelled. It seems as though the extreme popularity of Capcoms Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 3 Remake has them 100% focused on Resident Evil remakes. To the point that we are now hearing that the Resident Evil 4 remake is now in production. This to me seems ridiculous! Why would you need a remake of Resident Evil 4 when it was already remade for the PS3 in HD? This goes against exactly what I think constitutes a good reason to make a remake.
Modern Vintage Gamer – Every wondered why the Sony PlayStation 1 graphics were warped, or why they jittered and wobbled around – especially compared to the Nintendo 64? In this video we take a look at the cause and how they could have been avoided.
Ars Technica – For today’s episode of War Stories, Ars Technica sat down with Naughty Dog Co-founder Andy Gavin to talk about the hurdles in bringing the original Crash Bandicoot to gamers around the world. When Andy and his partner Jason Rubin made the decision to bring the action platforming genre into three dimensions, it required living up to their company ethos of “leaving no stone unturned” in the search for memory – even if it meant hacking Sony’s library code.
The PS3 Test Console plays three generations of Playstation games: PS1, PS2 & PS3 in ALL REGIONS. Plus it has a ton of cool developer options to mess around with.
