I lost a few more pounds this week! A nice surprise considering I was unable to workout during my Retro Road Trip up north (Monday and Tuesday on the fitness tracker below). Those days were mostly me in the car and then shooting video at retro gaming stores. Believe it or not, I shot over 500 pieces of footage on my iPhone and GoPro for that video! Insane. I tried eating healthier in towns I was unfamiliar with (thanks Yelp!) and that seems to have paid off. No fast food for me 🙂
We had a great time at Renton City Retro in Renton, WA. It’s probably the only retro game show in the entire northwest in 2021. Several from all over from Seattle to Portland and beyond came by to scoop up great deals and visit friends we haven’t seen for the past year and a half. I found a few cool things I show in this video.
Creating the sixth Queens of the Stone Age record would be anything but easy. Following 2007’s Era Vulgaris, mastermind Josh Homme would take a six year break from the band — producing the Arctic Monkeys’ third record (Humbug), playing in other bands like Eagles of Death Metal and Them Crooked Vultures, while also welcoming his second child. But in the fall of 2010, after developing an antibiotic-resistant staph infection, Homme was hospitalized for nearly two weeks. Then bedridden for a handful of months. Leaving the frontman to sink into a deep depression.
Professor Jay Gaming – Trying Undertale for the First Time! That’s right, I know nothing about the game, so keep it spoiler free in the comments please!
** DISCLAIMER – Nobody paid me to make this video, I didn’t receive a kickback or any compensation. I just wanted to highlight some of the mom & pop retro gaming stores in our area and hopefully give them some more exposure **
Square Pegs – I had a lot of fun recounting my timeline a couple months ago where I told you about when I started to when I finished working in the game industry. Today, I wanted to carry that forward but do things a smidge differently, and rank every game I ever worked on.
